Cheesecake by Keki of San Francisco

Oh hello lovelies! Happy Tuesday!

Let’s talk cheesecake, okay?

A couple weeks ago @ashleynewell.me ran a giveaway for a @kekisf cheesecake.

And, I won!

(thx for helping me win with your good luck name @freckls4.

And, yes, people, I did share because sharing is caring)

If you know me at all, you know how much I love cake.

I especially love #cheesecake, it’s my absolute fav.

Yes, I am a Golden Girl, I don’t care, hand me my sequins.

This is a #BasqueCheesecake, which apparently became popular in Spain around the 90s.

Unlike the NY-style cheesecakes I’m used to, this amazing cake is a crustless and is cooked at a high heat to get that burnt and crackly top.

Which means: this cake is super gorgeous to look at.

Now, I have had my fair share of cheesecakes in my time here on Earth.

I’ve had some “famous for their cheesecakes” cheesecakes.

Let me tell you this: this cheesecake is one of the BEST DAMN CHEESECAKES I have EVER had.

Like, I am so so upset that it’s gone 😫

I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect (burnt flavor? Gooey?).

The texture was smooth, the bites of cake melted in your mouth. There was a very subtle note of citrus (kumquat!), which made the cake even more dreamy.

Hello #Sacramento! When @kekisf is in the area, do yourself and your tastebuds a huge flavor: go get you some of this cheesecake.

And if you or anyone you know that owns a coffee shop or store that would like to offer these cakes?! Hit them up!

You will def make your clientele oh so happy.

The cake went super fast in our household (after I photographed it, that is. I always photo all the pretty food!).

I even had some for breakfast because, duh!

Alright, have I convinced you yet?!

Go find and eat this cake.

Thank you Ashley for the giveaway! 🤍

And thank you @kekisf for meeting me on the eve of the Lunar New Year, in the cold rain, to hand off my winning cake.

You are so talented!!

About the photo:

The non-nicotine smoke was my subtle nod to the word burnt.

The little candied kumquats came w the cake.

I’ve posted a few different versions in my stories too, if only to make you salivate more 😉
